Laura Kathryn

I was born in Greenville, South Carolina and was raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia. I earned my B.A. in Art from Messiah College and Eastern Mennonite University and earned my M.A. in Religion from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. While I love to work in a wide spectrum of mediums, my main mediums are photography, painting, and ceramics. I am influenced by abstract expressionists such as Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Williem de Kooning, and Wassily Kandinsky. My passion for art stems from my love of color, pattern, and texture. The questions that are fueling my artwork currently are: where do you find beauty in everyday experiences and how do artists speak truth through their work?
